The Last Picture

The Last Picture at the back of Chapter Fourteen gives me goosebumps. I didn't notice it before someone mentioned it on the internet. If you look closely, there is a question mark in the water and no boat.

Thinking about it gives me goosebumps!

It seems like the water swallowed up the Baudelaires and they're dead!
But they can't be because there are a lot of clues of them living, like in the Beatrice Letters where Sunny's radio show is mentioned and Violet returning to Briny Beach is mentioned in the Bad Beginning Rare Edition.

That thing in the water could be the incredibly deadly viper though. It does look like it could be some kind of creature.

Unanswered Questions

Here are all the official Unanswered Questions from Wikipedia.

* How did Fernald (the Hook-Handed Man) lose his hands?
* Who leads V.F.D., if anyone? (The film adaptation identifies the Baudelaire parents as the V.F.D. leaders, but Lemony Snicket has never confirmed this idea.)
* Who was the woman who took the Denouements when they were children?
* What is the important object inside the sugar bowl?
* Why did Captain Widdershins leave the Baudelaires?
* Who died and who escaped in the fire at Hotel Denouement?
* Who was the mysterious man who offered the Baudelaires a taxi ride? (Many fans guess it to be Lemony Snicket himself)
* What is the question-mark-shaped object in the water? (This may be a reference to the final line of Charles Baudelaire's most well-known poem, The Voyage, which reads, "Into the uknown to find the new.")
* Who started the fires at the Quagmire, Snicket, and Baudelaire Mansions?
* What happens to the Baudelaires when they leave the island?
* Are Hector, Fiona, Fernald, Captain Widdershins and the Quagmire triplets still alive?
* What was the relationship between Count Olaf and Kit Snicket?
* Did Ishmael and the colony survive on the outrigger?
* What happened to, and what is the significance of, the The Man With a Beard but No Hair and the Woman With Hair but No Beard?
* What was the purpose of the passageway between Esmé's appartment and the Baudelaire's original home?
* Now that it is known that Beatrice is the Baudelaire's mother, and it is known that Lemony Snicket loved Beatrice, is it possible that Lemony and Beatrice had an affair together, for Beatrice writes in A Series of Unfortunate Events that if her baby was a boy she would have named it Lemony?
* What is the Great Unknown?
* Who killed Olaf's parents with poison darts and how were the Baudelaire parents involved?
* Is justice Strauss still alive?

Sequel?

Why the hell was Jim Carrey hired to play Count Olaf if he doesn't like to come back for sequels? Why I ask you?

Of course he is busy making other movies so he wouldn;t be available for a sequel anytime soon.

Emily Browning seems to be available. Liam Aiken is a bit busy too. The twins who played Sunny are nearly four and Sunny is only 2 by the end of the series so she would have to be out.

Bloody Brad Silberling. He was such a douche bag to go and tone down the film so that "it wouldn't be too scary for kids". That was a stupid move, I mean the movie was supposed to be scary! Can you imagine how much more brilliant the movie would've been if he didn't tone it down and sugar coat it with a pathetic ending.

Tim Burton and Johnny Depp could've made this film a masterpiece but of course they left the project!

I will remake this movie when I am older and it will be dark, scary and disturbing, just tthe way it should be.

The End Is Here

So The End is here ( A Series of Unfortunate Events 13) and it was satisfying in some ways but disappointing in others.

Not many mysteries were solved but at least we found out who Beatrice is. And it turns out that everyone on the internet was right about Mrs Beatrice's identity. Up yours all you non-believers! Ha ha, anyway, I hope that the sequel to the movie will be out soon now that the series has ended. You can sign for a sequel at

Apparently the books are being reprinted in soft cover May next year. the first two books have been re titled to "Or, Orphans" and "Or, Murder". No one knows whether they will be revised or not.

Welcome to Olaf-Land

Olaf-Land is the "Island of the Internet" where "all things return to our shores".

If you are a person who enjoys other people's misery then Olaf-Land is the place for you.

I chronicle my own "Series of Unfortunate Events", the world's "Series of Unfortunate Events", and of course the real "Series of Unfortunate Events" by Lemony Snicket.

Olaf-Land thankfully stays away from all the treachery of the world and is a peaceful place.

"The Coastal Shelf" above is the place where you can post your own blogs and websites and anything interesting you think might for some unknown reason interest the rest of this oh so dreadful world.

If you must know, this most unfortunate blog will talk about fortunate things as well, which include movies, music, celebrities, teenagers, books or whatever the hell you want.
